CA is once again trying to disarm the sheep, and again the wolves will benefit. This all goes back to the foolish ideal that you can outsource your personal safety. This is not customer service, where the guy in India can handle it for you. In America the average police response time is 5 minutes. You can be shot, stabbed, and beaten a lot in 5 minutes.

LTC Private RallyPoint Member I don't live there. I will never live there. If I had to move there, I would be a criminal because they would not take my guns or magazines from me. I know here on RP we have some folks that live in California, and hate what is happening. This type of policy is bad for the nation. When civil rights, guaranteed in the constitution, are trampled by government, government shows that the founding fathers were right for not trusting government. California is going to be a great state to be a criminal soon. Few armed citizens, those who are limited by suffocating laws, yep good time to be a criminal. I would like any moronic asshat in the California legislature to explain how this law is going to limit violence. Take the mass killing last Christmas, the guns were already banned. It did not stop Mr. Home Grown Terrorist from using them to go on a rampage. So stupid to feel the need to keep repeating this: Take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, and only criminals and government will have guns. Then only criminals and government will have control.

As with most liberal/progressive ideas on firearm ownership by law abiding citizens is to always blame the" evil gun" & not the person pulling the trigger. The average shooter who has minimal experience can change magazines in a few seconds. The mag ban is just another step towards gun confiscation. MORE GUNS =LESS CRIME!!

Don't tire yourself out complaining about the ban on high ammo capacity clips and magazines. California is getting ready to ban all semi-automatic weapons next year. Keep that in mind when you watch the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan 1 and are tempted to move here to escape the cold. You'll get an even colder reception in California if you believe you have the right to defend yourself, your family, and your property. California favors criminals and don't want you getting in their way.

I lived in the state off and on for about 15 years. I'm not shocked by any gun law they pass, because local and state politics stay in a constant state of hysterics. They have to be outraged 24/7. They know the law will be overturned, but they can drag it out for years. I only go there to visit relatives now.

Referendum or not, the second amendment says "shall not be infringed". And yes,I know this applies to the Federal Government, but it's these same liberals who are always so quick to invoke the "equal protection clause"... But I actually think this is a good idea, along with California wanting to withhold federal tax money and so on. (It's funny how Liberals and Conservatives have switched places. Liberals are suddenly interested in States Rights and in limited government. Also, for the first time in history, Liberal think Russia is bad. Who'd a thunk it?) I don't think we are going to find common ground with ever increasing extremism. In my opinion, we are closer to having a second Civil War than we have been since the first one.

I hope California secedes, and they are welcome to take Washington (either or both) and Oregon with them. I think a trial separation of 10 years would be a good idea. See if 10 years from now we have learned anything or not.
