Given the evidence he should be found innocent of Murder, but with the threats to the Judge, the jury being followed and having the jurors cars photographed as usual with mentally unstable folks pushing a narrative nobody can be sure. If Rhitenhouse is not found guilty on any charge their will still be riots, ,mostly peaceful protests :) The Prosecutors both were asshats and unworthy of their position with their actions and words.

My favorite media trial was that of Martha Stewart. So this goes way back. I know that's very different here, but it 100% applies to all us idiots reading internet nonsense about what is going on with this trial. We simply are not being given information that the jury is being given.

So whatever goes on with highly publicized trials information is disclosure based on algorithms biased toward your web surfing preferences.

From what I have seen - which is admittedly not everything, because I am not in the courtroom or on the jury - he should be found innocent of everything except possibly a weapons charge, but it looks like that was dismissed.

Everything I have seen shows CLEAR self-defense. Which means even a conviction on a lesser charge would be wrong. Plus, the Prosecution has gone completely off the rails, multiple times. I know court is not a popularity contest, but juries DO interpret evidence based on how they perceive the lawyers. It shouldn't be true, but it is. The prosecution has got to be one of the least likeable teams ever to set foot in court. That CANNOT possibly help their case. If the jury was inclined to vote against evidence and vote with their hearts, Rittenhouse clearly has the sympathy vote, here (PLUS Rittenhouse has the evidence on his side).

Self-defense plus asshat prosecution (admonished by judge + just being a general jerk of a guy toward Rittenhouse) = no conviction. At least that is how the math looks from here.

Not be our place to prejudge. I will know when the Jury is in. If he is guilty then he should be punished. If they link other lesser charges and dumb down what occurred to get a conviction then that city along with ohh the era need to go into all of the available video and convict for Arson, Assault, reckless endangerment, damage to Federal Propert, use of deadly weapons, ets on all of the rioter/protestors across the nation.

My point is that the two are inexplicably intertwined but no action is taken aganst those who did the rest. Not to mention the guy who was shot after brandishing and pointing his weapon. It is up to the jury. Facts and only the facts.

All of the lawlessness in the US is outpacing 3d world countries. I am sick and tired of selective prosecution.

Anyway I will be happy when anyone including him (if guilty) served the time they should. Bring them all to justice.

I don't get too political, but you asked for people to weigh in, so I will.

My bet is they'll find him not guilty of the major charges because it's incumbent on the prosecution to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" a defendant is guilty of what he is being charged with. However I wouldn't wager a guess about the lesser charges the jury can weigh as per the judge's instructions.

Despite all the deflections from all the straw man arguments, "ya buts" and "what about-isms", what matters is the facts of this case regarding the actions of the people involved that night and whether the prosecution can make the case. To me, it seemed weak from the start, but I was stunned by just how badly several prosecution witnesses undermined they case they did have. I think it stunned a lot of people, and the reactions have been telling.

Both sides have been guilty of burying trial analysis deep in their reporting, but for me, it's a troubling sign for the prosecution's case when even left-leaning news organizations like CNN and the NY Times, and many of their actual legal experts (as opposed to their opinion makers) have pointed out serious weaknesses in the prosecution's case.

Sorry, but if he gets acquitted, it will not be because of the cheap and easy answers being offered now such as race or because of the judge who, by all knowledgeable, reported accounts, is living up to an established reputation, but you need to look deeper than the rage-inducing headlines to find that reported in several stories from several organizations on both sides of the aisle. And because bias and selective journalism is what society has returned to, which caters to our confirmation bias (yours too), your really should look to multiple sources to get more, sometimes better, angles to a story than you find with just sources you like.

Should he really have been there? Like the rioters themselves, no he really shouldn't have, BUT that's not the same as having any less "right" to be there than anyone else. People forget there's a difference between what they should do vs what they can do. Being there wasn't his job, wasn't his businesses, wasn't his town. Nonetheless, being there does not negate his right to defend himself.

Was he in violation of state law carrying his weapon at his age? Probably, but if so, violating the law by merely being in possession of a gun does not itself negate a person's right to defend themselves; and it's a moot point anyway as that misdemeanor weapons charge was dismissed.

Is just having the gun a "provocation"? Depends on circumstances...and your politics I guess, but do not forget on all sides, many people that night carried weapons or objects that could be used as weapons.

Isn't being found not guilty the same as being innocent? Nope. To some it may seem like semantics, but words have meaning, and no matter how similar the meaning, they are not the same. In our legal system, a defendant is presumed innocent (technically, but everyone has opinions), so no one is found "innocent", just "not guilty"; as I mentioned earlier, "not guilt" means the prosecution failed to prove a defendant was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

My betting money is on an acquittal of the bigger charges; lesser charges...not sure. Buckle up kiddies, we shall see!

As to Grosskreutz, he is a convicted felon, and COULD be charged with illegal possession of a firearm. In fact, he claimed he lost the gun before approaching Rittenhouse, although videos show that was a lie.

Further he has been observed videotaping cars in various places. BLM has a long record of attempted intimidation, which is the only way I can conceive of Rittenhouse being convicted.

So first SrA John Monette, don't try the "none of them were charged" defense. That's ridiculous. A person who commits a crime did it, whether they are formally charged or not. I expect that the police consider having most of his biceps vaporized is sufficient punishment.

I think the testimony by the prosecutions witness and FBI drone footage proved that Rittenhouse did in fact act in self defense. Grosskreutz testified that Rosenbaum and Huber were both physically aggressive and had physically assaulted Rittenhouse prior to him shooting. Grosskreutz also testified that he held Rittenhouse at gun point while he was on the ground which under Wisconsin law is means to use lethal force for self defense. If anything, Grosskreutz will likely face charges of False imprisonment and unlawful possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon. Hell, Rittenhouse even called the police less than 2 min 55 sec after shooting Rosembaum.

Based on the video and testimony, Rittenhouse has a good case for self defense.

The first person, Rosenbaum, was described as an aggressor who made threats to other people earlier, was heard to say he was going to kill Rittenhouse, and was observed chasing Rittenhouse. Despite the fact that Rosenbaum was unarmed, it can not be ruled out that Rosenbaum would have used the rifle against Rittenhouse and others if he had been able to wrestle it away.

Rittenhouse fled to a nearby area and fell to the ground as he was being chased. One person kicked him, another person, Anthony Huber, hit him in the head with a skateboard, and Grosskreutz had a pistol that he was aiming at Rittenhouse when shot.
The shooting occurred on 25 Aug 2020. Just 5 days prior, a BLM mob dragged a white male from a vehicle and beat him severely almost killing him.
It goes without saying that a mob doesn't need firearms to severely injure or kill someone.

With that said, the jury would be aware of the news reports and threats of violence regardless of the trials outcome. Last week, one person was caught video taping the jurors amid threats to DOX the jurors. Some may feel compelled to find Rittenhouse guilty on lessor charges regardless of the facts.

If the two deceased men grabbed his weapon as he states, then he was within his rights to shoot or said weapon could be used on him. The third man had a pistol in his hand and lowered it toward defendant. I would be in fear of my life too.

Forget about the fact the 3 men shot had criminal records because Rittenhouse wouldn't have known that. Should he have had the weapon? Probably not, but from what I've seen from trial, the law in Wisconsin for people under 18 but older than 16 possessing long rifles is vague. So I am surprised that was thrown out, but regardless he was attacked by 3 men regardless of whether he should have been there or not, he was attacked. He had every right to defend himself. The guy who was shot and survived admitted in court he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse first, that right there is grounds to be shot in self defense. The 2 that were killed both attacked him including with a skateboard and trying to get his gun. A skateboard is a deadly weapon especially when somebody is aiming at hitting you in the head, and if someone tried taking my gun unless they were police, I'll know they aren't taking it to become my friend so again self defense but I leave these decisions to justice system. And no I don't think it would be different if Rittenhouse was black.

The fact is that the domestic terrorists that attacked him, and they are domestic terrorists under 18 US Code 2331, deserved to be put down like the animals they were. I'm not a veteran, but have worked as both law enforcement and fire department, so I know what a skateboard or other blunt object can do. I also know that when someone tries to brain you with a skateboard, a second person tries to kick you in the face, then people are trying to grab you, you aren't thinking "I wonder if I should see what they want," you're in full fight or flight mode. One of the three Kyle had to defend against had already berated him, all but starting a physical altercation with him, then chased him down and was reaching for him, having been involved in a riot. Also remember Gage, on the stand, admitted he didn't drop his sidearm, but had it in his hand, pointed at Kyle, when Kyle fired that time. To me, this is a case of self defense, and contrary to DA "I'll point a rifle at the jury with my finger on the damned trigger if I want to" Binger, you do not surrender your right to self defense if you're armed. Sadly, the state is going to pursue this until it's beaten into the ground for decades, ruining a young man's life. He didn't "cross state lines with a gun," but instead drove 20 minutes to the city he worked in, where his father lives, to clean defaced buildings, and be there if needed otherwise. He was handed the rifle, which he is legally allowed to possess and carry in WI, once he got there. Every charge they tried was crap, and they simply demanded they be obeyed. The left is now crying "black lives don't matter" because three white men, all of them violent thugs, two of them convicted criminals, tried to attack a 17 year old young man, said young man refusing to allow them to harm him further.

Admittedly I haven't kept up with it but from what little I saw on television I think he just took some cockroaches off the streets.
