Do you think the nation over the generations, has perverted the meaning of the fourth of July?

"And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there"
Taught to all of my kids, teaching to my grand kids.
As far as the dogs & beer? Free Enterprise at work baby!

I have a big wooden sign hanging in my house and on it is our Great Pledge of Allegiance. I also teach my son the National Anthem. My wife is from England so he also is learning the God Save the Queen (with laughter saying this). England refers to our July 4th as "Treason Day" and I just say "Merica!!!"

Some people have passed down to the children the meaning, others look at it as just another day to party.
