Do you think the NCO corps has lost Tradition?

When was the last time you seen a NCO Indution, or what happen to the NCO Club, NCO Looking out for other NCO's

I do not believe the tradition is lost as much as it is in hybernation. I believe due to the uptempo with a war on two fronts, and through rapid promotions, it has been difficult at best to upkeep these traditions. We need to get back to them however.

I do see what you are talking about... I am lucky to be surrounded by a strong NCO community of AIT Cadre here in TRADOC. I can't imagine not having this support system. It will be a tough adjustment when I PCS.

I was inducted back in 2010 in Iraq. My previous unit would do an induction annually for all newly promoted NCOs. Personally, I believe the military should bring the NCO club or have a monthly social gathering of all NCOs at the post level, so we can share knowledge, experiences and network.

Depends on the unit and base you go to... I believe we have lost a lot of our tradition.. but there are some units that are trying to reinstate some of our lost Traditions. My last unit with the Engineers 864th here in Lewis / Mcchord have stated Doing proper NCO Induction Ceremonies .

The entire Army has lost traditions, there is a cya philosophy that dominates today.
