SPC Michael Mullins Biden is the guy that recommended having a double barrelled shotgun for home defense -- and in the event you feel threatened, you are to go outside and fire both barrels.

Setting aside the fact that discharging a weapon outside is illegal in most places where people live, and presuming he meant firing the shotgun into the air as opposed to some random direction where something might be hit at higher velocity, we're still left with rendering yourself effectively disarmed by expending all your ammo with a weapon that takes time to reload. He advocates this to dissuade people from buying light, easy-to-control and easy-to-reload, semi-automatic rifles.

I think anti democracy is a better statement.
