Consider the Peace and Freedom, Libertarian, Green, and other third parties. The Tea Party isn't really a political party. It was merely the name adopted by a popular movement that has largely vented its spleen like a wave striking a sea wall. Attempts to keep it alive or constitute it as a political party are sputtering at best. Ultimately, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party have morphed into subclasses of one separated only by their degree of progressiveness. Classical liberals and conservatives have been left without representation. It appears that the Left has firmly usurped leadership of the Democratic party disguising themselves as "liberals" but, in fact, they have no love of liberty. The GOP is floundering as its leadership loses touch with its base. I fully expect the Democratic leadership to continue its relentless march until they are confident that they self-proclaim as socialists and the Republican Party to be taken over by new leadership that will self-proclaim as the anti-socialists. Then let the fun begin... Oh yes, it will happen, because as I see it right now, the fight in the house is a sign that they are resisting to change the games they are playing, which they played it badly. History is repeating itself before our eyes. The only different now is, will the established Republican realize it before the foundation is completely gone. I will disagree that the "Conservative Tea Party" will splinter off from it's Republican base - but I see parties like the Libertarian party moving more mainstream and eventually being in the fold of state and national level seats.

I think all in all, more American's are becoming more disgusted and disgruntled with the two party system and their inability to represent the people that they claim to represent.
