Okay so I'm looking into shifting my auto insurance provider from Nationwide to someone else. I'm in the middle of getting quotes and whatnot from different places. One of them is USAA. The quote they gave me was along the same lines as what other companies are giving me.
So my question to the RP Community is; do you use USAA for your auto insurance? If so, how is the service and whatnot? I figured I would ask a community I trust rather than just go off reviews and whatnot.

I have had them for over 15 years and their customer service is phenomenal. Their online claims communication, their response time when resolving an auto accident claim are superior.
My only beef with them was when I was a recent incident (100% not at fault, guy ran a stop sign and T-boned me). I have rental coverage - up to 30 days when repairing or 1 week after declaring the car totaled. after 23 days in repair, they "suddenly" declared my car totaled. 1 week was not enough time to find a replacement car and I didn't have the check at the end of that week. They didn't explain to me that in that case the dealer will usually let you purchase the car pending the arrival of the settlement. Things got a bit heated but stayed professional. Eventually my lawyer was able to "convince" USAA to pay the rental beyond the "insurance contract"

Been with them for 10+ years. No complaints, have had nothing but exceptional customer service.

Been with USAA since 1993 for banking, insurance and brokerage. Their customer service is nothing short of exceptional. They are well trained and very respectful every time. My wife and I have always been pleased with them. We do use Navy Federal Credit Union for some things, their mortgages and car loans tend to have from 1/2 to full point lower rates than USAA.

I have been with them for 29 years. Might pay a bit extra but they do take care of you when something happens and you need to make your insurance work for you. Agree with David's exceptional customer service comment.

I just switched over to USAA for my car insurance last week, so I can't speak to service if you actually need something, but I can tell you that the switch was simple. The agent I spoke with to set up my policy answered all my questions and made the process very easy. My quote happened to be half the price of my old insurance so I may be a little biased.
Also, I have never had a problem with USAA for any type of insurance or account in the 4 years I've used them. They've scanned and emailed me documents I've needed immediately and been more than accommodating with adjusting policies.
