I have a soldier who has orders to PCS he is worried that do to his profile limitations for pt that he may have not passed weigh and tape. Will his orders be canceled immediately if he becomes flagged ?

Certain flags will cause a stop movement. Others will transfer withe the individual. Flags for APFT or ht/wt are transferrable.

A Flag for the Army Body Composition is a transferable flag and a Soldier can PCS. But if he is on a profile and it is not permenant you can no longer PCS on a temporary profile.

Good question SGT(P) (Join to see) and the answer is no I don't care what your profile is if you fail tape you are wrong the only exception to this is if there is a medical reason for gaining weight i.e. thyroid problem or on a med that causes rapid weight gain etc...

1SG (Join to see) that's exactly my way of thinking. I would say more, if you are in a running, X or Y profile, losing weight would help you recovery faster, not all the way around.

Yes you are correct PFC Ortiz and I failed him as well as he failed himself in ensuring that he was doing what was necessary to not bust tape

Can the losing unit deny that soldiers PCS because of a flag?

SFC(P) Loveless has answered it better than me. By that, if he has a temp profile in the system, then his PCS orders will never be cut. But, no the losing unit can't deny a PCS for a flag.

An SM can PCS with SOME flags in place,,,, that may be what you meant MSG (Join to see) as a HT/WT flag is the transferable type... so just clarifying for those that may not have understood its not a flat yes, but a "depends on flag type"

SGM Erik Marquez - Yes, that is what I meant. My apologies for not clarifying my statement.
