My question is the APFT is the standard if you cant pass the APFT why is command allowing you to reclassify. Isn't the APFT required for any Army school? I would reference TRADOC when looking for Regulation.

Absolutely spot on. If it is an Army school, there are prerequisites to meet and uphold. No reason for a waiver here.

It is my understanding that soldiers must be in good standing (not suspended from favorable personnel actions) to attend schools. I believe this includes reclassification schools. If a soldier has not passed their APFT, then they should be flagged until this performance is improved. I suggest you look at AR 600-8-2.

Thank you SFC!

I am aware of flagging actions and their effect on soldiers going to schools, I should have been more specific. I am wondering about when the soldier is actually AT the school. Is it a graduation requirement? If not, will they take a test at all?

Roger. Typically reclass schools are on a shortened schedule. I think you might by right. I may depend on the schoolhouse

You have to pass an APFT to jot be flagged. If you're flagged, you can't go to any schools.
Besides, I've never seen a school you don't have to take (and pass) an APFT at.

Most, if not all, MOS schools have an APFT on the training schedule.
