The same effect can occur from any third party candidate that gets a noticeable portion of the vote. The savvy victor may notice that he could stand to gain some votes by implementing part of the third party candidate's platform. SPC Elijah J. He was right.

What we need is people who run on their personal ideals rather than ANY party's rhetoric.

I would like to see at least nine candidates on the ballot for each presidential, congressional and representative election. I would also like to see an overhaul of the electoral college to split those votes more along the lines of the popular vote.

Finally, I would like to see l political campaigns limited to a specific amount of public funds to run the entire campaign. Take out the lobbyists from the equation. See what kind of campaign they can run on a budget. Make it so they have to keep a public record of all spending. That way we would be able to have an insight into the way they budget before election day. Neither of the two prominent parties show any constitutional constraint. Our Constitution doesn't require a majority of the popular vote to get elected, and President Bush 43 proved that with his electoral majority when he won, over VP Gore's popular majority. I believe we DO need a party to choose that actually calls for constitutional constraint. SSG Gerhard S. Parties are the means for voters to unite under their shared beliefs, to vote in representatives to represent them.

When two parties have the sole ability to make the laws for the good of the people, inevitably they make laws for the good of the two parties and neglect the people.

The Two Parties have done an amazing job at dividing voters and enslaving them to the belief that the voter must vote AGAINST one party, not voting for the one which best represents them.

In December 2013, after Veterans became targets of Congress to sacrifice for their need to distribute tax dollars elsewhere, the Veterans Party of America formed as a Constitutionalist, solution oriented party designed to unite Americans, no longer dividing them.

http://www.veteranspartyofamerica.org 1SG Mark Wilder Sun, 12 Apr 2015 16:28:38 -0400 2015-04-12T16:28:38-04:00 2015-04-09T17:36:16-04:00
