Does anybody have any insight on 91C (for someone looking to reclassify)?

It's one of the hardest MOS to pick up e6 so I've been told by every senior maintenance nco I've talked to. Also, 91 series is all working on the same equipment basically, everyone works together and crosstrains at the unit levels. 91 everything doing 91 all the things a/c, vehicle services, troubleshooting. The Army may separate the specific skill set training but all in all a mechanic is a mechanic.

Hmm, MOS must have been reclassed. In my day a 91C was a LVN(Licensed Vocational Nurse) that worked in hospitals or at Battalion stations.

91c is located at Ft Lee Va it is one of he hardest MOS to rank up in and you do a lot of cross training as well as 91J. 91c AIT usually last 13 weeks . In that amount of time you acquire you 609, 608, and type 1&2 certification for life and it can be used on the civilian side also you will learn the basic troubleshooting skills and different types of machines and also HMVs.

Not a wise choice most of the equipment is contracted out and you will spend most of your career working outside of your mos

I'm currently in the 91C and yes rank is hard to get however the promotion lists aren't flooded like some other MOS's. And for switching over to the civilian side you have ur credintials so that makes it alot easier.
