So it looks like technically there is a wavier BUT good luck getting that one signed.

http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/recruiter/downloads/Eligibility_Requirements.pdf

At time of selection have no less than 4 years of time in service and no more than 9 years of
time in service if a SGT, no more than 15 years of time in service if a SSG, or no more than 16
years of time in service if a SFC (waiver by CG, USAREC authorized).

Eligibility_Requirements.pdf

Response by SFC Jason Evans made Aug 17 at 2018 6:26 PM 2018-08-17T18:26:18-04:00 2018-08-17T18:26:18-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3888498

I will tell you that the Army is hurting for recruiters right right now. Get on the "recruit the recruiter" website, find the poc on the site and call and ask them. They are the ones who approve and disapprove packets. They will tell you if it's worth it to drop a packet or not. They are short, so you never know. I talked to a SFC Snow when I dropped my packet.
