Does anyone else agree that you have to pay for for the digital Army Times?

I was really liking the new design of the new Army times website, but then all of sudden after reading 5 articles it said I had to subscribe to it in order to read more stories or articles. Really paying 20 bucks to read a story and to know what's going on in the world and around the military. Yeah I know there are other websites to get the news from but Army Times WAS up there with my top media outlets. I'm just ranting so please don't read to much into this. LOL.

- From an Army Times perspective, they are a business and they have to make money somehow.
- From an individual perspective, I can get my information from a variety of sources that are free so I am not going to pay for that information.
- Army Times is good for Army specific information but not all of their articles provide the quality and depth of reporting required to properly educate and inform in my opinion. Just another reason not to pay for it.

The unfortunate side of the coin is that it is an independent paper that is not created by military journalists. At best, we(Combat Cam and 46 Series) may get a photo in an edition, but it is at the whim of the corporation that owns it. Which means that it is able to be sensationalized to any degree; just like Stars and Stripes.

I'm not sure you have to pay...I think you can watch an ad and then you can read it. I've read a few stories online from the Army times and I've not paid for it nor do I have a subscription

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about here, but...
Wouldn't the Base/Post library have a sub to Army Times? Plan a visit and ask.
Then you could read it for free?
