Recently I was in a dance skit to the song "In the Navy" by The Village People. We were to wear Navy Uniforms. I went to the thrift store and bought a woman's white Cracker Jack shirt men's pants and woman's white belt. I wore my own garrison cover and leather work shoes. It felt awkward to be wearing a uniform that was for the purpose of doing a skit. However on the same token it felt good to be wearing two items that were truly mine.
Afterward I was told I was the only one who obviously had previous military training in marching and saluting. After thirty years it would have felt even better to have been able to wear my dress blues but the old waistline after bearing ten children is several inches greater. I tried on my jacket and it came to each side of my waist. Haha.
Talk about a motivation to work out again. They say muscle has memory. Do you think a fifty year old woman can get her 20 inch Bootcamp waistline back?
