Does anyone have a sample script for a cake cutting ceremony and grog for a Military Ball?

Don't know about the cake cutting ceremony but the grog is easy enough. Those that attend and bring a liquor hidden in a bag so no one know what it is. As they walk in to the ball, dump it in a big glass bowl. This is usually don at a "dine-in". It's been a while since I have attended one of these so using memory,,,

Grog is not something one drinks for enjoyment; kind of like the coffee the Company Gunny Makes.
1776 Rum Punch - 1 part lime juice, 2 parts brown sugar syrup or molasses, 3 parts dark rum, 4 parts water

Royal Navy Grog - 1 part lime juice, 1 part brown sugar (or honey or molasses), 8 parts dark rum, 16 parts boiling water, fresh mint (or cinnamon) to taste

Pink Panther Piss Punch - 1 Part Amaretto, 1 Part white Rum, 8 Parts Pineapple Juice, Grenadine to taste.

My opinion, molasses makes em all taste like crap.

there used to be a manual for Procedures and Ceremonies but at my age things Like that went out with the massive Military Brain dump i had when I got married the 3rd time...

COL Charles Williams had the correct answer. If you Google "script for grog bowl" or "grog bowl ideas" you'll get tons of hits with all kinds of formal ceremonial responses and some very fun and funny ones, too. There are some very good ones you could easily use for a military ball, with civilians mixed in with military members.

Don't forget the oldest and youngest member at the cake cutting ceremony. As far as the grog, start with a basic punch then each unit comes up with a "story" behind their ingredient ie at the 11th SIG BDE, B Co was represented by Guado to represent our times in Honduras but unfortunately it had to be exchanged out since it could cause blindness because it had lead in it.
