Does anyone have advice on how to request additional funding for training/schools (e.g. EFMB, Air Assault, GAFPB) in a Medical Support Unit?

This is basic but I'm hoping someone can build on it:
Is there anything within the MTOE or sister units' to justify the need?
Is there any way to trade some logistic trades for support from other units with the resources?

Schools NCO can run it up through BDE to Division - or even Corps.

However, your unit would need to justify the need for the schooling. If you are PCSing you might be able to go enroute if you have a ultra cool career manager. Sometimes they can scrounge up the funds but, again, they would need to justify the expense.

Depends on level of interest within the unit and support at the various command levels; sometimes location. GAFPB should have some level of German military support.
When I got my EFMB, we had off-duty classes to prepare for the test with graders and equipment from various units. Study material was also provided with minimal expense.

You will have to show the value of the training to the unit, in a budget request.

Not the most recent info, but apparently several ROTC programs have the testing done annually.
Good luck with your program.
May require getting TDY or taking leave to participate. Mississippi State also has a $35.00 fee.

Speak to your Commander. There is money for everyone to train but the senior leaders have to have the will and VALUE training medical people in those areas which unfortunately is often not the case in a cost constrained environment.
