Does anyone have any experience dealing with or has a loan through Veterans United Home Loans?

My wife and I have been considering a refi to take advantage of lower rates. Veterans United Home Loans comes up quite often in searches for best companies. Just interested to see if anyone has worked with them.

Wifey and I did our original $0 down VA loan (unfortunately higher interest) through them and are in the midst of completing a refinance to also take advantage of lower rates. We were referred to them by some friends.

They've been good to work with. Our loan officer and his team have been great since nearly everything is done online. Our rate went down a lot.

Would I recommend them? Yes. YMMV.

We used Veterans United several years back when i refinanced the house in Colorado. Patient and worked with me to get the best rate at that time. If we end up buying a house out here in Florida I plan to use them again. I found them better than the mortgage holders we had before! YMMV of course.

Please do your homework on this company, several years ago, they were in Federal Court, about taking advantage of Veterans by being in cahoots with lending firms and over charging interest rates, an pocketing the revenues along with the finance companies, they had to refund veterans back the funds that we being over-charged. It was well over a 1 million dollars. I was trying to find the article about it, but I erased it off of my computer, when I found out this info. So don't be too hasty, do your home-work. This information is still out there on them, even if this was several years ago, this happened about 4/7 yrs ago, it should not be hard to find. You can find something on them by using ask.com and tap-in, federal lawsuits on Veterans United Home Loans or using another method. All the best to you, be cautious about this company. That's why I didn't use them, do your research....

We were in communications with them. We did not use them for financing, but I will say that they were professional, friendly, and responsive.

I would highly recommend you work with a Local Lender in your area. Your local lenders know your market better than the national companies. You will get better service, personalized experience, and usually better rates and quicker closings without all of the delays. Ultimately, find and interview at least 2-3 local REALTORs in your area and find one you are comfortable working with. Not all personalities click well, so find one you can be comfortable talking with openly. Trust is key between yourself and your REALTOR.
A quality realtor will make your real estate transaction smooth and painless for you and remove a majority of the stress involved in this major life event.
