Yes, I can one up you guys this discussion. I was in the Navy for 10 years, active Army for 4, Army reserve for2 years and just joined Air Force reserve for 6 year enlistment. I would be happy to retire E-6 but, I guess I will be E-5 for life.

All the obstacles or hoops I have to jump through. The air force starts me out as level 1 and require me to go to tech school. Now, I already went to army tech school for the same job. Well, it air force so it don't count.

im doing the same but im a E7 did you have to drop rank? They are trying to see if I can come over as a E7, if not I would drop one rank but still retire as an E7 regardless.

I spent 13 years on Acrive Duty as a 19 K kicking ass on the baddest piece of equipment the Army has to offer. I then switched over to the Oregon Air National Guard. There is a huge difference some good changes and some bad. I kick myself everyday now that I am getting close to retirement and I am going to retire as an E6 which is the rank I held in the Army and the Air Guard made me an E5 which I have held for almost the last 6 years because I have to go to the Air Forces PLDC and BNCOC even though I did both in the Army.
