Does anyone have any tips/advice for FY17 AGR MSG Board?

If its board record check time, your ability to do anything is limited to making sure what the record reflects is complete, accurate and submitted IAW current board notice policy.
That plus making sure your file matches your picture is about all you can do unless there are file errors,,,,then ask for specific suggestion based on the issue you found.

Bottom line is make sure your board file and DA photo are accurate and hope for the best. Keep in mind that a promotion will also hinder on vacancies at the next rank. A friend in the Chemical Corps has an outstanding record but because there were no vacancies his MOS didn't promote for a few years. I'm in another MOS but was promoted before him which made him jealous. So you do what you can to make sure your records are correct and let the system take over from there.

DA photo update to within 3 months of the board or less. 100% accuracy on your uniform and matching documents in iperms. Passing APFT less than 6 months old.
The rest is dependent and if you have no time left, you're out of luck. But a bachelors degree is helpful. A broadening tour too.

Take your time to look over your records, your uniform for the DA photo, cross check your ERB with your OMPF, have another set of eyes to further assist, and be humble.
