Does anyone have any tips on attending the AIT platoon sergeant school?

Ensure you memorize all the modules, all of your clothing and TA-50 are serviceable. You're current with all of your PRT

Need to find someone that attended recently, because the course is constantly changing. What my buddy did in December was different that what I did in March.

1. What you do now and have been doing- you have probably been doing it wrong. hahaha (but seriously)
2. Learn PRT if you don't know it already.
3. Come with an open mind, prepared and WILLING to learn- makes it that much easier.
4. Use your time wisely- learn your mods. Do not memorize them, learn them.
5. Teamwork makes the dream work. DO NOT STUDY ALONE.

and other info not related- bring your deployment hard drive with movies, there's no wifi and Columbia, SC has a lot to offer when it comes to restaurant choices.

I graduated in April of this year from the course, and I thought it was rather easy. I do agree to memorize your modules, and you should also know them but memorize them too. Marching is probably one of the most difficult things for Soldiers going through that course, it has been a very long time for some since they last had to march, or even lead a formation. Cadences are rather important as well, you don't want to march to left right left everywhere you go. Everyone does well at running, it's marching that people need to brush up on. As far as becoming a platoon sergeant, know TR 350-6, it will save your career. You should review it prior to attending the class. If you do not regularly do PRT, start doing it now. Be able to do Prep, 4Core, CD1, CD2 and Climbing Drill 1 two times each, and cool down. You should have those memorized so you do not have to look at notes to remember the order. Saying your clothing and TA-50 is serviceable shouldn't be something I need to mention, you are an NCO and everyone should have serviceable clothing/TA-50 not just when you are attending school. Be professional, make friends and enjoy MRT if you haven't already attended that.
