Does anyone have experience with the process of "Permissive Assignment" through MACP?

My husband and I are both enrolled in MACP. He has 8 months TOS at Fort Carson and is currently deployed for 5 more months. I am locked in at my unit at JBLM, so he will have to PCS to JLBM. There are open spots for his MOS and rank at JBLM. AR 614-200, paragraph 5-24 states that after 6 months TOS he can request a "Permissive Assignment" meaning he PCS's at no cost to the Government and has to take leave days to PCS. At 12 months TOS he is eligible to move. Does he just file a 4187 with S1? Does anyone have experience with this? How long does the process generally take?

PFC Private RallyPoint Member The best advise I can offer is ensure you are working through your 1SG / CSM and your S1, they will have the best information on how to help your husband with an assignment. Your husband should be doing the same thing!
