Before the guard the would complete there disability/injury care in Fort Bliss. Due to Covid they were sent back to Hawaii before completing the process. Now 7 months later he is still not receiving proper care. He is being told to be on WTB orders he has to have 3 appointments a week. He is being seen for his ankle and wrist ( both need surgery per Tripler ortho) and his LOD only states his ankle even after providers have said it needs to be fro both. He was seen under WTU (warrior transition unit) for both at Schofield.

Does anyone have any info or input about any SOP, or what needs to be done. Does anyone have info for National Guard transition after 12 month deployment and medical for LOD injuries? 2020-12-19T11:51:47-05:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 6592849

My dad ( Hawaii Army National Guard)recently came back from Deployment ( 12 months Title 10 orders) he came back in the mist of COVID. If the doctors determined he need extensive treatment and care, he should have been recommended to the WTU (now SRU). (The WTU has transitioned over the last year and downsized, not accepting as many guard/reserve.) Even if he did not meet criteria for WTU, having everything documented at his physical would be enough to submit a claim with the VA and start getting treated through them. Another LOD (for wrist) could be submitted if there is enough proof of injury for the command to agree to file the paperwork.
