Does anyone have info on Fort Sill, I might be PCSING there next year, I am a 92A20?

I was stationed there over 16 years ago so I'm sure it's much different than it was when I was there. I will say that I personally enjoyed my time there. OK is right down the road as well as Wichita Falls TX. The University of Oklahoma is located a short drive away in Norman, OK as well. There is lots to do in the surrounding area while Lawton (the city right outside the gate) leaves much to be desired.

Was stationed there back in 80-82. Lawton, OK is a nice small city. Lots to do there, at least when I was there. The post is spread out alot but makes for not being crowded by other units.

Ft Sill I wouldn't recommend especially if you're trying to make your next rank. I was stationed here for over six years, there's nowhere to go and nothing to do and if you have kids you're really at a lost then. The winters normally not as bad as some places but can get pretty icey, the summers are very hot, training is very crappie here too! So you're better off going to somewhere like ft Eustis Va.

Fort sill is a chill post, lawton is a dangerous place though. Stay away from the off limits places and youll be good.

I hope you like American Frontier history. Fort Sill helped write that book. It is an historically beautiful post.

I was there in '84 &'85. It was definitely my least favorite duty station. I was in Field Artillery, and we lived in the field. There is not much to do, but there is a pretty good college downtown, Cameron University, if you want to take classes, and there's outdoorsey stuff like fishing and pretty good deer hunting.
