I was prior service and my unit was for reclassification and prior service members. I was there Jan 2010 to May 2010.
I also went to Ft. Gordon for ALC(2014), Win-T course (2014) and SLC (2019)
The Classroom environment and Barracks situation seem to have degraded each visit.
Driving /POV for initial AIT soldiers is not authorized unless it was a PCS move (9mo or more) and at Commanders discretion.
Because of the undisciplined environment of the barracks, I would encourage security on all electronics. As you know, there are good soldiers and "dirtbag" soldiers.
Because the Soldiers are still considered in "boot" there are Phases that each soldier must go through for privileges. Phones are restricted as they are in basic.
The Barracks are not "open bay" like when I started, they are shared rooms up to 6 soldiers.
There are network drops in the barracks for internet access, as there is good cell service there too.
Just keep in mind, there isn't any privacy, and security needs to be enforced.
Also, to note - Cadre have been replaced with the Drill Sergeant (round and brown hats) - it isn't over at AIT.
This link should help:
https://www.thebalancecareers.com/army-training-phase-restrictions-4056773

What Restrictions Do You Have During Army Training?

Review the training restriction requirements for U.S. Army personnel undergoing Initial Entry Training including basic training, OSUT, and AIT phases.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 22 Jun 2022 08:32:47 -0400 2022-06-22T08:32:47-04:00 Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 22 at 2022 9:15 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/does-anyone-have-recent-information-about-25u-ait?n=7738442&urlhash=7738442

No one is allowed to drive or have a car unless MOS-T, I am stationed at Ft Gordon right now. Although some did on the weekends when no classrooms training was being conducted, however, even that was limited because there was always a DS on duty and we spent majority of the time cleaning the barracks or some sort of detail.
