Still, as I'd said, it's an interesting question, certainly....Response by Capt Daniel Goodman made Jul 9 at 2019 4:53 PM2019-07-09T16:53:18-04:002019-07-09T16:53:18-04:00SGT Javier Silva4795249<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="9363" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/9363-79r-recruiter-baltimore-1b-baltimore">SFC Private RallyPoint Member</a> This used to be in FM 3-21.5 or FM 3-21.13, but I think they've updated it. There are no governing regulations prescribing courtesies, but there are penalties for failing to adhere to these marks of respect. At best, one can get bawled out, and at worst, be charged with a violation of the appropriate article of the UCMJ. I took a "heat round" from then-BG "Stormin' Norman" Schwarzkopf for failing to call the building to attention for the arrival of a general officer. I was the SDO in the brigade headquarters (3rd Bde, 8th ID (mech)) and was too focused on some paperwork to notice his looming bulk in my field of vision. Betcha I didn't make that mistake twice.Response by CPT David Miller made Aug 31 at 2019 6:57 AM2019-08-31T06:57:49-04:002019-08-31T06:57:49-04:00CPT William Jones7345144<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don’t know of reg number but it is definitely a courtesy. Call a room full of mixed or all EM to attention. Or all officers to at ease.Response by CPT William Jones made Oct 31 at 2021 5:04 PM2021-10-31T17:04:44-04:002021-10-31T17:04:44-04:002019-07-09T16:51:05-04:00
