Honesty.... do you know what is entailed in this position and also what do you want out of the experience. Dont lock yourself into something that isnt good for you. Show up to the interview with your own questions so that you understand what you will get out of it...i.e. rating scheme, schools, tdy opportunities ... whatever as I do not know much about that position but thats the first things that come to mind2LT Brian L.Tue, 19 Nov 2019 06:20:48 -05002019-11-19T06:20:48-05:00Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 19 at 2019 6:46 AM

Yes; go sit with someone who does the job for a day or two. Read every regulation you can that has to do with the job. Know the automation systems (DTNS, CATS/ATN, RFMSS, etc). Don’t ever say “I don’t know” unless you pair it with, “... but I know it is in (AR/DA PAM/TC) XX.Y-ZZ.”

Bring some kind of presentation- slide show, training plan, etc. it will show the panel you actually know and understand the job.

I also maintain a military resume that indicates miled schools, all positions I have held, civilian education, dates of rank, PEBD, etc. A company commander of mine provided me the sample when I was a PL and I have handed it down to every PSG/PL of mine since. If you message me with your email, I can send you a copy of it so you can make a copy.

Be confident about yourself and secure in your knowledge.CPT Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 19 Nov 2019 06:46:48 -05002019-11-19T06:46:48-05:00Response by SFC Jake Middaugh made Nov 19 at 2019 10:37 AM

I was AGR for 13yrs & have also been a 91X instructor/evaluator at a BDE. My last mobilization, I was interviewed & chosen for the position out of 45 other candidates - for FORSCOM, the highest CMD in the Army, a 4-Star CMD.

My advice:
- Be confident in yourself, your MOS & the available position
- READ THE EXACT POSITION/JOB DESCRIPTION & KNOW IT VERBATIM!!!
- bring a notebook or steno pad and take notes!
- think of special idea for your own way or better way for the instruction (i.e. give an example of your own experience for better H8 recovery procedures).
- If you don't know, tell them "I will research that and get back to you tomorrow". & make sure you write that on your Steno book!
- write a good answer to "why do you think you would be a great instructor for this position? ".

Study hard, so you'll be confident & fully prepared!SFC Jake MiddaughTue, 19 Nov 2019 10:37:50 -05002019-11-19T10:37:50-05:002019-11-18T20:42:17-05:00
