Biggest tool to every 2LT I come across: FMS Web. Go on it, look up the UIC/MToE and that will give you all the possible positions you might serve in, what equipment you're working with, and the unit's mission.

Great tool for career planning, etc.

But FMSWeb will give you an idea of what kind of platoon you'll have. What is the force structure? Is the platoon 7 or 30 people? Will I carry an M9 or an M16? Will I have the opportunity to go to a cool school for counterintel or humint? Just more information for you.

Roger, there is more to being a PL than just leading a group of Soldiers. Ryan makes a good point in knowing the structure. Supply and Maintenance is something I have always noticed tpu officers put in the back burner and then 3 years later it bites them. Be a SME before going to that unit. Good luck and good advice, Ryan.

Go see your local Career Counselor. They should be able to get you in touch with the unit.

I've been accepted to the unit. I start in February. I'm just wanting to get background information before I start.
