Most are critically short of company grade officers, but it will take waiting a while or a bunch of waivers to send you to the CAQC as a 2LT. Not all units want to wait that long or jump through the hoops.

With a para/lin in hand, complete a conditional release from the Guard. That'll be processed through your current CoC.
When that is done, go to a Career Counselor and swear in as a Federally commissioned officer.
Lastly, you'll complete the release and discharge from the Guard and acquisition to the USAR.

Once that's done, you have some work to do to get qualified.
Feel free to message me directly if you have technical questions about the process or just want general information about CA. You'd be hard-pressed to stump me; I've been doing this a while. If time is a factor for whatever reason I'd get cracking on that asap. It took my dd 368 roughly two months to get signed. Granted I was getting release from the army altogether so it had to go up pretty high my CoC. Not sure about going from NG to the reserves. But I'd get with your s1 in addition to the resources already provided.

Does the NG not have any CA or MISO units? I'm an Army Reserve Career Counselor and we process NG transfer to USAR all the time. Feel free to contact me at [login to see] and we can go over the process. Thank you. Phase one and two are distance learning, while phases two and four are resident. There is plenty of advice throughout this thread that should get you on path. Know that in order to enter the pipeline you must be a 1LT and sitting in a 38A position, along with other general requirements.

Good luck on your path towards becoming a member of a great regiment.
