PO2 Private RallyPoint Member 3544007 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello all. I am an active duty enlisted member of the US Navy. I have been applying for OCS through the Navy, but I want to explore my options with the Army and the Marines Corp officer programs. The biggest question I have is in regards to age requirements and time in service. I joined the military later in life. I am in my 6th year of active service and I am 35 years old. My understanding is that in the Army you must be 34 or younger at the time you accept your commission, and I believe it is 28 for the Marine Corps. I can easily do 20 years before I turn 55 (the congressional requirement), but I have been unable to get a clear answer on age waivers for either branch. I meet all of the other requirements, but time in service and age seem to be against me. Can anyone provide me with info on this matter? Does anyone know if age waivers are available for Army and Marine Corp OCS candidates? 2018-04-14T19:52:37-04:00 PO2 Private RallyPoint Member 3544007 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello all. And no doesn&#39;t mean you have to be a Doctor or a nurse)<br />The real question is<br /> what do you what career path you want to take in the military ? There are some you are too old for and some you are not. What are you looking for? I&#39;d have read the part in our reg bout you going to ocs through the army but you&#39;d be within age requirements. I was a prior service (Army) and applied for multiple waivers (Age, TIS and TIG) which were approved by HRC, the MILPER stated waivers were not authorized and would not be approved. If your packet is strong enough and you meet the requirements, you should apply.
