Does anyone know of a good debt consolidator?

Looking for a good debt consolidator to fix up my credit. Does anyone know of a good one or does anyone know if USAA offers that service?

I would recommend starting with USAA as a resource. I'm not sure if they do debt consolidations. But, they can likely steer you in a good direction. But, do be careful: There a lot of predatory lenders --just looking for military members.

Not only do I know a good debt consolidator, I know of some awesome ocean front property in Kansas you should invest in with your savings.

Bottom line is this, debt consolidation services are profit driven. In other words you will always be on the losing end. Pay off your highest interest debt first, and move on from there. If you are using credit cards, stop immediately. They are the single source for most American's debt.

One thing you CAN do is look into getting a lower interest loan and pay off your high interest credit cards with that loan.

I would say all of them are horrible. I did use in they past. They don't do loans or anything like that. If you want to pay off your debt they will call up all of your debtors and figure out a set payment plan. They also require you close out all of your accounts. You pay them one amount and they pay your debts.

The concept of debt consolidation is a scam.

You need to make a budget, figure out the minimum you can live on, and put the rest to savings and paying down your debt, more to debt until you get out from under it. That's it.
