Does anyone know of any resources to help me move my belongings to Texas while I undergo brain surgery?

I came to TX for a 2nd opinion to have 2nd brain surgery and now that I need to move here I need to get my things mover here and not sure how?

AN Mary Tucker Sorry to hear about the second brain surgery. Good luck! Depending on how many belongings you have to move, you could rent a U-Haul truck or have a moving van move your items. Is this a permanent move, or only until you can have the surgery, with recovery time, and follow-up? Will you be located at the Texas Medical Center in Houston?

it will be a permanant move, I have 6mos to a year recovery without complications. I am unable to drive and financially strained with all the back and forth to atlanta. I am not sure what hospital as of yet im seeing Dr. Shih in Houston TX. I have my stuff in storage now trying to get it here.

AN Mary Tucker Very sorry to hear about the upcoming brain surgery that you need. Where are you moving from Mary in the first place - just need a State, no address or city? AN Mary Tucker thanks for letting us know that you need to move your belongings from Atlanta, Georgia to Houston, Texas.
I recommend you add Atlanta, Georgia as a tag.
Do you have VA benefits? If you do perhaps the VA could help you. DVA, VFW or one of the other Veterans Service Organizations may well be able to assist you.

When I moved here, I used 1800 Pack Rat. They delivered two pods and I then had 2 men and a Truck load the pods. They will store the pods at their site for up to a month, which starts from when they deliver to your current home. You can then reverse the process here in TX. Depending on where you are currently, it was about $3500 for two pods to be delivered and shipped and dropped off at my TX home. We unloaded the pods ourselves, but you don't have to.

We will add your name to our prayer list. It is very lonely and very sobering to be in such dire straits. I have only had to have back operations but even with that small load I felt that my strength was spent. Take care and get well soon!
