I told a friend of mine that I would cast a net among my professional peers and see what I can do for them. I am looking for a place that would employ a person with a degree in art therapy. Reasonable pay, as in a wage that can be survived on comfortably. Preferably something with the ability to move up, but not required. I know that you, my veteran comrades, are into all areas of civilian careers

SGT Joseph Gunderson Possibly check in with any specialty that deals with special and physical needs children or down syndrome adults centers!?... I believe their always looking for specific individuals that might be able to bring something new to their research and development programs. Also it's the only thing I can think of that would pay comfortably for a rare degree. Good luck to your friend.

Have him contact DAV or PVA(Paralyzed Veterans of America), the other option is through a Hospitals' Psych unit.

I didn't even know what that was... but, I Googled it and lo and behold, the VP's wife is extolling the virtues of art therapy! If I could hazard a guess, maybe check with psychiatrists in the area that are looking to broaden their practices. Look into professional orgs in their city (I didn't realize that here in Houston, we have 2 specialized centers for art therapy) Sorry I couldn't be more help...
