PFC Private RallyPoint Member6756284<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello everyone! So I just PCS’d to JBER, Alaska and my vehicle is getting shipped from the New Jersey port to come up here in Anchorage. My father went to drop it off for me back home and I made sure the correct paperwork was there however they said my orders weren’t enough to ship it? I don’t even know what that means because they’re the ones I got when I graduated OSUT that the army literally gave to me haha. Does anyone know the other “orders” I need to be able to ship it? I know a couple guys up here shipped it the same way no problem so I have no clue what the shipping port is talking about. Any insight would help. Thank you!Does anyone know why the military won’t ship my POV to Alaska?2021-02-18T04:33:27-05:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member6756284<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello everyone! You have to get your orders amended to authorize shipping of POV.Response by SFC Kelly Bentz made Feb 18 at 2021 6:51 AM2021-02-18T06:51:37-05:002021-02-18T06:51:37-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6756564<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You need to go to your local transportation office and get the shipment authorizationResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 18 at 2021 7:14 AM2021-02-18T07:14:03-05:002021-02-18T07:14:03-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6756698<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you didn’t have anything specific on your orders saying the Army will ship your POV than you will need to drive it to Alaska.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 18 at 2021 7:45 AM2021-02-18T07:45:50-05:002021-02-18T07:45:50-05:00SSgt Christophe Murphy6757084<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Talk to your Transportation office that handles shipments for PCS moves. Rely on them and not on barracks lawyers for the best guidance. Unless your orders specified that a POV shipment is authorized handing your orders to them won't do much of anythingResponse by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Feb 18 at 2021 9:39 AM2021-02-18T09:39:27-05:002021-02-18T09:39:27-05:00SFC Melvin Brandenburg6757254<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your orders have to state shipment of POV. What you have in hand are the orders for YOU to go to Alaska, not your vehicle. Your orders need to be amended to include shipment of your vehicle to your new duty station.Response by SSG Brian G. made Feb 18 at 2021 3:50 PM2021-02-18T15:50:34-05:002021-02-18T15:50:34-05:002021-02-18T04:33:27-05:00
