Does anyone knows when the Mavni program reopens?

I have international friend who wants to join the army, but mavni program is closed, so does anyone have any ideas when mavni is going to reopen?

As of 1 October 2018, the program is still closed and no foreseeable reopening. There are those that are trying but the program is constantly meeting obstacles.

"Officials said the Pentagon is exploring other ways to adjust or replace the program in order to bring immigrants with those skills into the military. But the officials said it will be difficult and that it probably will take a good deal of time."

CPL Private RallyPoint Member as Sgt Private RallyPoint Member and MSG Private RallyPoint Member have stated, the program I said closed. It did not pay off the way they thought it would and security screening was problematic. Many MAVNI applicants sat for over a year because they couldn't get cleared to train, so they got uncharacterized discharges, welcome to America, now beat it. They have to solve the issues and come up with a new program acronym and roll it out. Recommend your associate identify another means to legally enter the US and apply that way. My understanding is they need to be legal residents of the US.
