I'm not sure of the percentage of that 11+ million belong to the youth category - but I'm sure most of them aren't exactly committing felonies.
Sure, they are breaking the law by being here illegally - but again, I would go on a limb and say that's probably the only major crime that they are committing. We all know there are criminals within that 11+ million - and LEO's in areas of high illegal populations should focus on weeding them out.

I'm in no way defending Kasich, as I'm not one of his supporters - but I do believe it's ridiculous to think our federal government could force 11+ million people to leave the country. It's political suicide by whatever party would agree to do so imo. That being said, you do have to develop some kind of tracking mechanism to identify the illegals, and provide some kind of "roadmap" to citizenship. If you do that, I would like to believe most of the illegals would make an effort to become registered in whatever tracking database it is - receive their work visas, and continue their lives. The ones who don't register, are probably the ones we really need to be concerned about and if caught - provide fair judicial process and deport as necessary. But deporting 11+ million people, not going to happen. She had to get it updated every two years for the better part of 40 years. After congress changed the rules for recieving Social Security she decided to become a naturalized citizen. That proccess took nearly five years! Meanwhile, certain political hopefuls in Southern California, after changing their names to sound Hispanic, and with the help of bureaucratic political allies, expidited potential voters through the proccess. That is the boogey man set up by the "open borders" crowd. What needs to happen is enforce existing laws regarding the employment of illegals (from any where, including overstays). Also if that is not practical in the short term, determine how much it costs the local communities that pick up the freight for these illegals, and fine/tax them for their share of the cost. If we continue holding out a gold ring with no limitations, everyone around the globe will be here to catch it. When we have a nation with nearly 40% of the available population unemployed/underemployed, there is no reason to bring in more workers. IF, it is necessary, only through a worker temporary worker's VISA, with the provisions to track anyone using such a VISA. For those of you that are interested, read the TPP Deal/Treaty, chapters 10 & 12 to see how our politicians are selling us out again. I've heard it from both sides. Deport them , keep them with caveats. Bottom lime is we cannot deport all of them, it's not possible. If we used profiling tactics, we could end up getting the wrong people along with the right ones. It would become a loose loose situation riddled with lawsuits that would stop the legal system in it's entirety. Think of the sheer caseloads to work all of them. And are we going to hold businesses who hire these illegals accountable? It's much cheaper to pay them .50 on a dollar (or less) under the table, than to actually hire an American to do the same work. And if we go after the businesses are we going to get caught in our feelings.."ohh mom and pop store couldn't afford to get naturalized citizens due to taxes, Obamacare, legal requirements", so to stay afloat they took what was there and paid them pennies on the dollar under the table? There's no clear cut solution to this, and no one's going to go out too far on a limb and hang themselves off it making a policy they know they cannot enforce. My parents came from England to this country with me in my mother's womb. I had dual citizenship until became a citizen of the USA when I enlisted in the US Army 41 years ago today!
I certainly believe we should enforce the laws that are already on the books. However there are so many Federal statues that there is no way to enforce them all [some statutes contradict each other in specific instances].
Getting a POTUS and a Congress which will actually govern effectively and efficiently may seem like an impossible dream. However, I think we incrementally move towards that goal if enough voters are educated on the issues and vote with wisdom. I hope the courts will side with the southwestern states and permit those states to protect the borders and round up offenders. I hope that DHS will be directed to help in the permanent deportation of serious offenders who are also illegal immigrants.
It would be great if we could discourage potential illegal immigrants from coming to this nation. One of teh best ways would be if illegal immigrants were denied basic goods and services including education, drivers licenses, and non-emergency medical treatment.
Rounding up all illegals makes no sense because they are distributed all over this nation. I believe an iterative approach needs to be developed in conjunction with the embassies of the nations where these people come from. In addition to discouraging illegal immigration we should use carrot and stick approaches to the nations with embassies in this nation to help them dry up the flow - part of this would be longer-term improvement in those nations and short term reduction of benefits from this nation until they dry up the flow of illegals and repatriate many of the them - starting with worst offenders.
In the short term we need to ensure that serious criminal offenders released in this nation from Cuba in the 1990's through current offenders who have been deported at least once are never allowed to enter this country. Nations which allow them to get back to this nation after being deported need to pressured or penalized depending on their role in illegal immigration.
I concur with MSgt Curtis Ellis LTC John Shaw and SSG James J.
