You can stop &quot;basically being Infantry&quot; and be the real thing! Very easy switch and automatic approval for non promotable E5 and below. It is not hard at all, it can just suck dog nuts if there is no space for you in a later cycle of osut. I waited for about 3 weeks at the inprocessing unit with a crap ton of other prior service/ reclassers. They sent all of us to day one osut and treated us like privates until we bitched and moaned to the drills. They got us hooked up with the 2nd phase of a split option national guard class. Basically advanced us a few weeks by the time it started up. 2 guys got lucky from the beginning and were sent to a cycle that was in the last few phases. <br />Rambling aside, do it. Infantry is the way to go. Last i knew werent cav scouts goin back to the old army ways of checking to see if bridges could handle tanks and crap like that?
