Old Skool! When the punishment was harsh, the yelling was aplenty and the discipline was HIGH!

No. I grew up around soldiers and liked them too much to be afraid.

Afraid to speak with my PSG? Nope, can't say that I was ever afraid to speak with anyone in my chain of command (at least after completing IET! LOL! ). Maybe I just had leaders who believed in open communications.

I never had a problem at Company level. I too was blessed with good leaders. After an eight year break in service and getting back into it, I still have no issues talking with anybody about anything. For the younger or new soldiers remember that you are in charge of your career. Make sure you know what you need to do to accomplish your goals, and sometimes that means you have to ask questions.
