None the less I cleaned every square inch of my bathroom. I have found myself also holding my children who are responsible to cleaning their bathroom to the same standards. If we failed inspection, re-inspection went Friday night at 2200. I wouldn't qualify for a slob based reality show, but I've kind of rebelled in my own home, ( except the kitchen and bathroom). I raise dairy goats, make cheese and raise egg/meat chickens, so the appropriate handling facilities all meet USDA and MDA sanitation and inspection requirements. I also do voluntary swabs, with lab sanitation certification. If I ever tried to clean while my wife was in the house, I'd probably end up divorced because civilian clean and Marine Corps clean are vastly different. Failed Saturday morning inspections, due to my bed making lack of skills. I would have to un- make it, and move it out of the bedroom into the Rec room. My mum would eventually make my bed.<br />Otherwise I was clean.<br />My father would say ‘When you pay the bills you can clean or not clean.’<br />Laters later I have a house keeper- she earns her pay... I take a q-tip to every thing (including the textured walls)<br />When I worked in a restaurant- I was loved by owners/hated by staff due to my cleaning standards. <br />“Guess what we didn’t clean while you were at drill?”<br />I noticed.... point out everything with naked eye of items they didn’t clean to standards.<br />I’m a VERY clean and organized person. But I still can’t master the bed making skills. But I love my ironed sheets my housekeeper does.<br />(She was able to pay for Grad school on her pay... Used mostly on the brass on our uniforms and keep them looking good. I do still clean up all over the place each and every day it seems. some old habits are hard to break. Mom and dad provide less and less help as we got older. by the end of 6th grade it was all on us. Dad did a quick visual inspection 4 paces into the room just before we left for school or were leaving the house for liberty (yes, we called it liberty). Neat and tidy appearance, beds made, clothes folded and put away or in the dirty clothes hamper, toys put away and an orderly desk meant no formal room inspection Friday night.<br /><br />Formal inspection was Friday night at 2200; white glove and scraping nooks, corners and crannies for grime with a toothpick, opening anything that might hold &quot;contraband.&quot; No liberty until we passed inspection. Curfew was 2400. I made the mistake of failing the normal visual inspection once. I didn&#39;t make it out the door until Sunday about 1400. I never failed the quick visual inspection again<br /><br />I did the quick visual inspection with my kids before they left for school or liberty. I never did the formal white glove and toothpick inspection. If they failed the visual inspection on a school day, curfew was one hour earlier for each failed inspection for two weeks. If they failed it on a weekend, I&#39;d reinspect in an hour.
