Does Branch track deployments of Soldiers and assign us accordingly?

Question is does Branch track deployments of
Soldiers and assign us accordingly?  Does
it seem that if you have done a deployment its more likely you will be assigned
to a unit that is going to deploy to give the unit more combat experience? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Not complaining in the least bit, just curious to what
others think or know about this topic.  I’ve
been in for 12 years now, out of those 12 years I have spent at least one day
in a combat theater of operations in 9 out of those 12 years (03, 04, 06, 07,
08, 09, 10, 13, 14) and in 05 in Germany so that’s 10 years overseas out of the
12 in total, so does branch see Soldiers with combat experience as a asset to a
deploying unit or is it just bad luck getting these back to back to back
assignments?  Should there be a program
in place on how to assign Soldiers besides just a tier level of importance?

It doesn't seem like it to me. I've been in 4th ID since March of 2005 and deployed four times. I put in a recruiter packet last summer during my last deployment and branch has been holding on to it since November.

Branch tracks your deployments through EDAS.

The first thing you have to understand about movement, is that branch can only PCS movement eligible Soldiers. In order to save costs on frequent PCS moves, branch is directed to move Soldiers around the 3 year mark. So, of all the Soldiers in your rank and MOS, you have to filter out everyone that doesn't have at least 24-30 months on station. Then, remove everyone who has a temporary profile, or medically non-deployable, flagged, Stop Move's, certain AEA codes, etc. In addition, some Soldiers have EFMP and Married Army Couple Program that limit movement options.

From that list of what is remaining, your branch manager has to fill the highest priority reqs first, including Drill Sergeant and Recruiting.

Branch tracks everything. Deployments, how long you have been on station, when the last overseas assignment, Skill Identifiers, past jobs. It helps with putting the right person in the right job. Not only is that awesome but it keeps people from trying to keep those cush jobs and get them back in the real army~
