SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7271765

I’m an E-7, 19 yrs and 5 months of service. I’m facing a Chapter 14-12c due to two Class E felonies of assault due to a drunken incident. The incident was driven by my PTSD. Before the incident occurred I completed the MEB portion for PTSD but didn’t start the PEB portion.
I know the CG will get both on his desk. Just curious if anyone’s faced this and what the outcome was? Does CG grant MEB or pursue Chapter 14-12c? 2021-09-15T15:23:33-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7271765

I’m an E-7, 19 yrs and 5 months of service. Every situation is different, even if someone had something similar. And it depends on your CG and how they feel about people who commit assault whether intoxicated or not. It would be good if he/she puts in a good word with you. By no means should you make excuses for what transpired. Tell the CG you had a good career and you made a mistake, you have PTSD, and humbly ask to get the chance to retire. Tell him you will need the VA to help you with your PTSD.

I have seen a young soldier with PTSD in the MEB process get a DUI. Apparently the CG had compassion and did not chapter him out.
