Does it bother you when you see civilians wearing dog tags because it "looks cool"?

I have friends who have made the ultimate sacrifice and it seems disrespectful when people walk around wearing dog tags like you would a chain or necklace to look cool when they don't even have the first idea of what dog tags even are and what they symbolize.

That's one of the reasons you serve, to give Americans the right to be free. I understand your frustration but don't let it bother you, there are better things to spend your give shits on.

No but I make it a point to ask where they served, when they day its fashion, I laugh at them and then go about my way.

Not particularly. They are free to wear it. If they claimed to be former military or still active and it wasn't the case then it'd be bothersome.

Last time I saw someone wearing dogtags, who hadn't served, it was a family member's dogtags.

Yes it does bother me, even when they wear camouflage, it seems as if they are pretending to be something they did not voluntary to do. But over the years I had to let that go, this is a free country and we did fight to protect those freedoms.
