Does it upset anyone else when others don't stand with their hand over their heart during the National Anthem?

Watching the opening ceremony of the Super Bowl and several times it showed Cam Newton with his eyes closed and swaying around.

It's offset by the fact that Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem pretty straight. Actually did a decent job.

Very few modern artists can do it right. Some of anthems tones required a true singer due to high pitch and transition between verses therefore they mess it up like if it some sort of pop song.

Couldn't agree more. I was cringing just before she started, then began to relax as she went on. Tensed up a little towards the end, but she finished strong. I consider it one of the better ones at the last few Superbowls.

Yeah, I was extremely impressed. I definitely judged a book by its cover nd thought it would be terrible. I was proven wrong.

It positively irritates the hell out of me when artists think that singing the national anthem is little more than an opportunity to showcase their jazz improvisation techniques. Lady GAGA actually has a lovely voice when she is not screaming into the microphone about something vulgar!!!!

Personally I am not offended by people who do not stand for the USA National Anthem as long as they are quiet and respectful while others are standing and showing respect SGT Benjamin Lindsey.
When I enlisted in 1974 much of the nation seemed to disrespect the military service men and women. Back then there was more disrespect of flag and country than seems to be prevalent now. I am glad that by and large there is more respect for our nation and the military service members than prior to 9/11/2001.
