Does LES hide the number of Leave Days earned after 365 days?

I had 3.0 days of Leave vanish from my LES when the new fiscal year started (the leave was still there on Oct 2022 paycheck showing as balance forward but vanished in Nov 2022). I only had 3.0 days of leave on my LES. My unit ARA told me that it happens and you can still use it if you go active duty. How do I verify this information?

You may want to address this RFI with your BN S1. The reason why I say this is because when I got back from deployment last summer (BOG back in the States was May 2021), after all my days were calculated and used, I was left with 0.5 days of Leave. I just looked at my most recent LES from BTA last month...and my 0.5 Days BF Leave Balance is still there. I have never heard of Leave days just vanishing unless those days were over the USE/LOSE ceiling.

1LT Private RallyPoint Member sir, LT's are not allowed to have leave... they fear you may wonder to far from base and not find your way back... LOL... Just kidding of course. If it was for a course or activation for training they most likely will be paying them out to you since you are in a reserve status. However, the S1 is a good place to start as they should not jus vanish. I just got off orders this past summer and had to sign a form to have them paid out to me.

There are two likely scenarios here.

The first is that you don't realize that the balance forward entry is not your amount of leave. The accrued leave entry is the amount of leave you have.

The second is that you were caught up in a DFAS glitch that affected multiple military members. If your leave legit disappeared from your LES, you have to submit a pay inquiry with the LES showing the leave and the LES without the leave and request it back

You have to look at current balance, not brought forward balance. Current balance is what you have. If that had a number and now it doesn't, then you'd want to find out what happened. You'll need to go through your S1 on what you need to do.
