Does my wife have to report with me for an OCONUS PCS? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/does-my-wife-have-to-report-with-me <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hi,<br /><br />I will be PCSing to Camp Humphreys, South Korea, next year. I will be submitting a command sponsor to take my family with me. We know that a command sponsor is not guaranteed. But let&#39;s say it is approved. Does my wife have to PCS with me when I leave to report? The reason why I&#39;m asking is that she needs a few extra weeks to finish her master’s. Can she come to Korea later date than my report date? I have checked AR 614-30 but can&#39;t find anything. Ask this question at that time since they will best be able to answer MSG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 25 May 2022 15:30:43 -0400 2022-05-25T15:30:43-04:00 Response by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made May 25 at 2022 5:47 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/does-my-wife-have-to-report-with-me?n=7695539&urlhash=7695539 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your wife does not have to go with you right away but as SFC Livingston said you need to talk to the levy personnel and let them know the plan so you&#39;re able to get her tickets paid for. Generally within 30 days of reporting she can arrive without changing the command sponsorship. You have to request it with your levy process. This will allow your spouse to stay where she is and draw BAH until she travels to your location. If you don&#39;t request non-concurrent travel, your BAH ends the moment you fly out and your spouse is no longer eligible to stay in on post housing if you currently live there SFC Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 26 May 2022 08:47:39 -0400 2022-05-26T08:47:39-04:00 Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made May 26 at 2022 11:09 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/does-my-wife-have-to-report-with-me?n=7696764&urlhash=7696764 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe she does NOT have to travel with you. You need to communicate your intent to the personnel and travel agencies who are scheduling your PCS move. Also let your gaining unit in ROK know. She should have her own orders anyway. Also make sure her passport is up to date. Check the State Department web site for other guidance Lt Col Jim Coe Thu, 26 May 2022 11:09:14 -0400 2022-05-26T11:09:14-04:00 2022-05-25T13:22:23-04:00
