Does prior military service count for pay in the Coast Guard?

I have 4 years of prior service already. Now I am entering the coast guard as an E3 because I could not go in as E4. Now for the debt to income ratio will they go on me getting paid as an E3 with 4 years of service? Or paid as a new E3?

I think you are asking if your time in, from prior service will count for pay purposes.. Yes?
if So then yes, your TIS, in total will be used for pay.
So you will get paid as an E3 with "over 4" years TIS 4 2,082.00 per month

Prior service Army guy here. Your time counts for pay and retirement. Be forewarned...It also counts for High Year Tenure calculations.

Don't know why you had to take a bust...you should have called me first. Be that as it may, you will be receiving E-3 pay with four years of service. You should also be eligible to take the servicewides next year for advancement to E-4. What rate are you shooting for? But I see you are an E-4 already...why the E-3 concerns???

Ryan, don't forget that any DEP and Reserve time also counts for pay. Your Recruiter should be front-loading you with all of this info.
