<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>After talking to a recruiter yesterday, he asked if I wanted active army vs reserves? I said either to which he said the Age limit does not get adjusted for any Reserve. <br /><br />Why have less stringent standards for the reserves considering that they are deploying right next to Active Duty Soldiers, you don’t want a 40 yr old 11B in the Active Army, But deploying as a Reserve is ok?Thu, 12 Apr 2018 06:20:50 -0400Does Reserve time count towards the age limit for active duty?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Age is deducted in the Guard, I don't see why I wouldn't be for the Reserves. You might want another opinion from a different Recruiter.SPC Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 12 Apr 2018 14:53:26 -04002018-04-12T14:53:26-04:00Response by SSG Elyzabeth Cromer made Apr 15 at 2018 1:47 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For the Reserves if there is a shortage in your field, (usually only for officers) medical, dental, law; you may be able to sign a waiver saying you know you won't get twenty years and a retirement. The Dentist I used to work with in the VTARNG did that. He came back in shortly before he turned 60, having served a few years when he was in his twenties, Vietnam. He had sold his dental practice and wanted to serve. He came in as a Major, was promoted to LTC a few years later. Dentists are in short supply so he received a couple of age waivers and continued to serve after 60. Probably the best officer I ever worked for, definitly the most even tempered. (and a total machine when it came to the APFT!)SSG Elyzabeth CromerSun, 15 Apr 2018 13:47:05 -04002018-04-15T13:47:05-04:002018-04-12T06:20:50-04:00
