I'm currently in the Army Reserves but my contract will be ending soon. I want to switch over to active duty and I was wondering if this means I would have to go through the whole entire process of MEPS again. Since I have a recent PHA and dental on file, can I skip that portion of medical screening? I've heard it is possible but I'm also not sure because last time I went to MEPS was 2016.

I just did this process from the guard. Went to meps yesterday, as long as you have a new PHA from this fiscal year, you will go there just to sit with a counselor and sign a contract, won’t have to do anything else as long as you are all green on PHA

That's what I was also told because I had a buddy go last month but I wasn't sure if it was just a case by case thing. Thank you for your help.

How does it work when you select an MOS for retraining? If you aren’t subject to the prior service business rules, are you offered anything that you qualify for that has a vacancy? SGT (Join to see)

Yes based on what they have available, that you qualify for in your rank. go with a list of either jobs or job series that you’d like to look at. If that series or job has any upcoming available AIT slots then you will get it, if not, you chose a different job or stay with your job you already have (option 18) and they will tell you what duty stations you can go to and you can pick where you go. I picked my duty station cause the jobs I wanted they didn’t have and I wasn’t interested in the others.

From what I gathered, you will go to MEPS, you may be allowed to "skip" some portions within the facility. However the best place to find the answer would be an Active Duty recruiter. As you will need to talk to them to start an enlistment contract for regular army. Also some of my soldiers that have made the switch had to also chose a different MOS. This may or may not be the case with you, but it is something you should be aware of. As 2 of my current soldiers have had to do this when switching from AGR, and Reserves to active duty.
