I also remember reading, many years ago, if one commissioned on active duty with no break in service between enlisted service and commissioning, one could retire at 20-years total active duty without meeting the mandated 10-years commissioned service retirement requirement. Just food for thought.

I commissioned at 40-years old, with age waiver for my enlisted active duty time. Each fiscal year, the Army sets aside requirements, as well as what waivers the are willing to accept for that fiscal year. That is truly the only way you will know. Each year the requirement for Army officers changes. I had six years service prior to commissioning. If the age standards are the same you should be good to go with a waiver. Good luck.
