Does the 91E ALC offer any civilian certifications?

I'm on a wait slot for 91E ALC at Ft Stewart. I have new 91e soldiers coming from AIT at fort Lee with AWS and NIMS certifications. Will I get these certs through ALC at ft Stewart?

You should have been given those certs in AIT. I was. I mean I obviously had to meet certain requirements such as pass all four bends of the bend test in stick annex. But if you didnt receive them whilst graduating from AIT, I would def contact your NCOIC and see if you can get them when you are in ALC! But act fast so you dont get screwed over SGT ☺

I got my cheers and NIMS at fort Lee but I was their for AIT. As to answer why he's there you get sent differently depending on active, reserve or national guard is my guess.

I am one of the AIT instructors at Fort Lee and they do offer the ALC classes a chance to get some certs but they are not here long enough to receive all the ones offered.

I went through the 91E reclass school at ft Stewart earlier this year and they grade to NIMS standards as well as ARMY standards but do not certify you in NIMS or anything else as the instructors there, SFC Lott and SFC Alvarado, are not NIMS certified therefore can not certify you.

I cannot speak for Fort Stewart training specifically, but on completion of practical training at 91E ALC through Fort Lee I received my National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certifications for lathe and milling operations. No welding certs as they require annual recertification.

If you do not have a chance to complete the NIMS certs at ALC, find a local testing sight to take the tests. You can find a complete list of testing sites in the NIMS website. Good luck.
