Back in the day if you had completed 4 years of JROTC, or received the Mitchell Award in CAP you came out of basic an E3, but still did the normal stint. I went through Lackland in 92, and a couple of airmen in my flight got the short Basic course for their JROTC time. I dn&#39;t know if they still do it or not. If you have JROTC, CAP, or certain amount of college, you come out E-3.
